THE MLB LEGENDS PRESENTS
Bay Area’s favorite MLB television personality, Shooty Babitt Broadcast Analyst for NBC Sports California. The 24-year Major League Baseball Scout, Shooty Babitt retired from Major League Baseball and is active in philanthropic endeavors to provide more opportunities for underserved youth.
Shooty was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 25th round of the MLB Draft and began his career with a seven-game hitting streak, the second such longest streak in Oakland A's history. Shooty joined Comcast SportsNet as a pre-and post-game show color analyst for its A’s telecasts and in addition to his role, Shooty was a Scout for the New York Mets, and previously the Arizona Diamond Backs.
Shooty founded T.Y.P.E (Transforming Young People Everyday) and serves as President of the youth mentorship nonprofit organization. Through a community partnership with the Oakland A’s and Chevron, Shooty host baseball clinics to coach and inspire children aged 8-15 to achieve their full potential, while learning the fundamentals of baseball and the STEM concepts involved in the game.
The proud father of two college graduates, both drafted by MLB teams, Shooty was inducted into the Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame.
